Ervin Hoxha was born in Tirana on October 13, 1978. From July 2024, he serves as Minister of the Interior.
For more than 20 years, Mr. Hoxha has held various state duties from executive level to high management levels in central law enforcement institutions such as: Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, State Police, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Justice.
From November 2023, Mr. Hoxha served as Chief Inspector of the National Inspectorate of Territory Protection.
Ervin Hoxha previously served as Director of International Relations in the State Police; Head of the Europol National Unit; Head of the Interpol National Central Office; Director of the Traffic Police; Director of the Directorate of Protection of Witnesses and Associates of Justice; Director of Tax Investigation and Money Laundering; Deputy General Director of the Institute of Social Insurance; General Director of the Probation Service, as well as Cabinet Director and Advisor to several high-ranking state officials.
Also Mr. Hoxha has specialized in the field of security and law enforcement in the USA, Austria, Germany, and other European countries.
He completed his secondary education in Balikesir, Turkey. He then continued his studies at the Security Academy in Dresden, Germany.
In 2006, he completed his higher studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tirana. He completed his postgraduate education at the German Police Academy in Münster, earning an MA in Public Administration and Police Management.
Mr. Hoxha is married and has two children.
